Ambar Lucid vibrates higher in new ‘Questioning My Mind’ music video

On the heels of the release of “Questioning My Mind,” Dominican/Mexican-American songstress Ambar Lucid shares the accompanying video. Directed by TheVideoboy, “Questioning My Mind” sees Ambar following her younger self, slowly enveloping herself in vines as time goes on. The visual is the second from Ambar this Fall, following the Edward Allerton-directed “Mar De Llanto.”

Ambar shares about the song, “I wrote ‘Questioning My Mind’ during a time when everything in my life was beginning to change drastically. My music career was becoming more stable and I noticed how it made people in my life act a bit different. It made me question many things about myself and many things that were once familiar to me. I came to the realization that just because someone is close to me, it doesn’t mean they’ll always be positive towards the way my life is going.”

The visual for “Questioning My Mind” arrives in the midst of a wildly busy and successful year for Ambar. She released her debut EP Dreaming Lucid, shared the documentary Llegaron Las Flores, which chronicles her journey to reconnect with her father after he was deported to Mexico, and toured North America with Cuco, Omar Apollo, and Mon Lafarte.

Quiet Luke’s ‘Berlin’ is bona fide electronic Heaven

Published

Quiet Luke by Harshvardhan Shah

New York-based singer-songwriter Quiet Luke has released a new song from his forthcoming debut album. “Berlin” is a nostalgic meditation on being in love, the artist remembering a surreal period in the city of the same name infused with electronic and pop elements. The track is his third release this year, following visuals for “Something To Lose” and “Interference.”

Quiet Luke is an NYC based singer-songwriter and producer from Hollywood, Florida. His experience creating an identity as a first-generation American while being simultaneously exoticized and outcast serves as the bedrock for his artistic dialogue. With a unique perspective on culture and history, the artist utilizes the canons of rock ‘n roll, the avant-garde, and sci-fi/fantasy escapism in conjunction with a musical foundation spanning classical, beat making, and pop music as tools to build a new world.

Coming of age in a fractured world metamorphosing into something even more sinister, the artist found himself in his “blue period” between 2015 and 2019. He released two EPs, Beholden in 2016 and Your Happy Place the year after, admittedly prototypes, while he meticulously crafted his masterpiece. His forthcoming debut album, 21st Century Blue, is a thesis on the first third of his life in the form of an “epic.”
