With Season 1 Underway, Schooled Wows At aTVFest 2019 Screening

With AJ Michalka, Tim Meadows, Brett Deier, and Bryan Callen (joining via Facetime), all in attendance for the Q&A and sneak peek of the fifth episode of the season titled Money For Rent, the cast of Schooled definitely left a lasting impression at SCAD’s 2019 aTVFest.

Schooled –– is a sitcom spin-off to the popular television series The Goldbergs which garnered a fanbase in the 90s.

The panel kicked off with AJ Michalka, who plays Lainey Lewis voiced her experience in high school and attributes her success to her first acting coach. She revealed her love for incorporating music into her role of Lainey Lewis with unconventional nuances as a method of teaching in the show.

Tim Meadows chimed in, reflecting on the humble beginnings of his acting career made up of comedic gigs. He shared a story with the audience on how one of his first jobs –– a modeling job in Chicago where he was required to jump up and sideways for a shoot shirtless.

“Keep your nose to the grind,” says Meadows. A year later, while walking on the sidewalk he saw this picture of him resurface. He advised the audience that no one opportunity makes up the success of a lifelong career.

From the viewing of the latest episode to the in-depth conversation among the cast and fans, the foursome shattered high school stereotypes.

Veteran actor John Cusack to appear in Atlanta for LIVE conversation

For fans of John Cusack and “High Fidelity”, a visit to Championship Vinyl definitely would make a “top five” list. 

The hit comedy “High Fidelity” is the story of record shop owner Rob Gordon (John Cusack) on a search for love (and the reasons behind his failed relationships) against a backdrop of over 70 songs spanning multiple decades and genres of music. With – or without – the help of his record store buddies Dick (Todd Luiso) and Barry (Jack Black’s breakout role), Rob revisits past relationships in hopes of figuring out where he has gone wrong. Released in 2000, The New York Times praised John Cusack as “a master at easygoing camaraderie.” Rotten Tomatoes has “High Fidelity” ranked #14 on the list of Best Romantic Comedies. 

Now, join John Cusack for a screening of “High Fidelity” on the big screen followed by a LIVE conversation regarding his career and the making of the film. Fans will get the opportunity to experience a moderated discussion, with John answering audience questions as well. A limited number of VIP seats will be available that include a post-show photo op with John.

Disney releases new ‘Lion King’ Trailer

The Lion King is set to be released on July 19, 2019, a month after the original flick’s 25th anniversary. And it isn’t the only live-action adaptation in the works for Disney—fans can also look forward to Aladdin (coming in May), Mulan, and The Lady and the Tramp.
