Earl Sweatshirt has announced a one-on-one conversation with his mother and scholar, Professor Cheryl I. Harris (Arthur Gilbert Foundation Chair in Civil Rights and Civil Liberties at UCLA School of Law).

The event, which is open to the public will commence on Saturday, December 7th at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA at 1:00pm.

The conversation between Earl and Professor Harris is an extension of a series of fan experiences Earl has been curating around Los Angeles, which included the Harun Gallery pop-up in Leimert Park around the release of his recent, critically-acclaimed project Feet of Clay via Tan Cressida / Warner Records.

Additionally, the MOCA event will feature exclusive merch and the 9-foot statue of Nebuchadnezzar, erected from the Feet of Clay concept and imagery that has been making its way through Los Angeles at the earlier pop-ups, as well as on stage during Earl’s unforgettable performance at Camp Flog Gnaw.

Don’t miss this exclusive discussion between mother and son this coming Saturday and listen to the riveting project Feet of Clay now. Get more info here. MOCA members can RSVP at membership@moca.org.

Ambar Lucid vibrates higher in new ‘Questioning My Mind’ music video

Published

Derrick K. Lee

On the heels of the release of “Questioning My Mind,” Dominican/Mexican-American songstress Ambar Lucid shares the accompanying video. Directed by TheVideoboy, “Questioning My Mind” sees Ambar following her younger self, slowly enveloping herself in vines as time goes on. The visual is the second from Ambar this Fall, following the Edward Allerton-directed “Mar De Llanto.”

Ambar shares about the song, “I wrote ‘Questioning My Mind’ during a time when everything in my life was beginning to change drastically. My music career was becoming more stable and I noticed how it made people in my life act a bit different. It made me question many things about myself and many things that were once familiar to me. I came to the realization that just because someone is close to me, it doesn’t mean they’ll always be positive towards the way my life is going.”

The visual for “Questioning My Mind” arrives in the midst of a wildly busy and successful year for Ambar. She released her debut EP Dreaming Lucid, shared the documentary Llegaron Las Flores, which chronicles her journey to reconnect with her father after he was deported to Mexico, and toured North America with Cuco, Omar Apollo, and Mon Lafarte.
