Charles Rogers: Former Detroit Lions receiver dies at 38, reports say

According to a report from Chris Solari of the Detroit Absolutely free Press, former Detroit Lions wide receiver Charles Rogers, has died at the age of 38.

The Saginaw, Michigan native was the No. 2 general pick in the 2003 NFL Draft. He holds the school record for most touchdowns in a career and won the Fred Biletnikof Award in 2002 for the nation’s best wide receiver.

He was a unanimous first-team All American, totaling 2,821 yards and 27 touchdowns in just two seasons.

Rogers’ former teammates first broke the information on social media. The cause of death is still unclear.

Rogers is said to leave behind eight children.

Rogers, in his three seasons in the NFL, caught 36 passes for 440 yards with four touchdowns.

Twitter slams IRS over ‘Get My Payment’ portal glitch

While millions of Americans await anxiously for stimulus checks to deposit in their bank accounts, The Internal Revenue Service’s debuted an online tracker to provide status updates. What seemed to be a simple solution has erupted into chaos as many claim the ‘Get My Payment’ tool is one big technical blip.

Many who were able to access the site claim the tracker was unable to provide any information or the taxpayer’s eligibility could not be determined regarding their stimulus checks at this time.

The error message has been seen by millions and, yet, the IRS has yet to release a statement surrounding the portal’s technical difficulty.

The Trump administration stated approximately 80 million Americans are expected to receive direct deposits by Wednesday (April 15) as part of the $2.2 trillion stimulus package Congress passed last month.

Dozens of Twitters uses took to the social media platform to directly call out the IRS and express their frustration over not receiving checks or updates.

UPDATED: Kobe Bryant dead at 41; daughter Gianna Maria also killed

According to TMZ, Kobe Bryant has reportedly died from a fatal helicopter crash in Calabasas Sunday morning.

Kobe, 41, was traveling with at least 3 other passengers in his private helicopter before the plane crashed, sparking a fire.

The outlet confirmed with emergency personnel that their are no survivors left behind. Five people are confirmed dead, not including his wife Vanessa Bryant.

5-time NBA champion is survived by his wife Vanessa, and their four daughters — Gianna, Natalia and Bianca and their newborn Capri.

Per TMZ:

Kobe’s daughter Gianna Maria Onore — aka GiGi — was also on board the helicopter and died in the crash … reps for Kobe tell TMZ Sports. She was 13.

We’re told they were on their way to the Mamba Academy for a basketball practice when the crash occurred. The Academy is in nearby Thousand Oaks.

China quarantines 11 million over Mutating Virus

The Chinese government has imposed a quarantine on the city of Wuhan as a fatal virus associated with that city continues to spread throughout the world.

The city is at the epicenter of a coronavirus outbreak that has killed 17 people and sickened at least 500 more. Reports of the disease have popped up in the United States, Japan, Taiwan, and elsewhere.

Numerous countries have warned citizens to avoid travel to Wuhan. Chinese officials are facing intense scrutiny over claims that health authorities knew the extent of the disease but attempted to cover it up as the threat grew.

The Chinese government promised that any public officials who participate in any cover-ups of the disease would be “nailed on the pillar of shame for eternity.”
